The Merrick brand Spring Seasonals (I know, just roll with it) dog food is freaking adorable! Look at these names: Picnic in the Park, Love Potion #9, Easter Brunch. Suki gets sad Merrick Senior Medley dry food for breakfast and dinner but we mix some wet food in for everyone’s sanity/enjoyment. When I saw these cans at the pet store today I had to get all three. They’re pastel colored for god’s sake!

Picnic in the Park was apparently delicious because Suki up and spazzed out when she smelled it, then gobbled it down as if she wasn’t going to get 4 of these little suckers in a few hours. If I was trapped in our apartment and ran out of food I’d totally make her share her wet food with me and I wouldn’t even feel that weird about it.

PS The food descriptions on the Merrick website are hilariously reminiscent of the J. Peterman catalogue by way of Seinfeld.

Continuing the tablecloth series: action shot of Suki emerging from her under-the-table lair for three pieces of kibble at a time.

For a while we had a tablecloth on our dining table because we were waiting to get a new one but in the mean time what we had was old and crappy with too many scratches and water stains. When the tablecloth first made an appearance, Suki didn’t really pay it any mind. Then one day we found her lying half underneath it. The next day she was lying almost completely underneath it. And then she decided that she would not eat her food unless she was under the tablecloth. When it was time to eat she would go completely under the table and wait for us to place the bowls near where she was standing. She’d dip her head out to eat, one small mouthful at a time, taking the bite of kibble back under the table with her to chew and swallow. We’ve since gotten a new table but not before many pictures (and some video) were taken.
